Sylvain Maret

In 1993, after an MSC in computer science, Sylvain Maret joined the Swiss TV network in Geneva where he helped build a new network for delivering
innovative and reliable solutions (a digital newsroom, the first Internet architecture for SSR-SRG). He was also in charge of Internet Security.
In 1996 Sylvain worked as Security Engineer for Dimension Data (largest IT security company in Switzerland), in charge of deployment, training, product management, security consulting and ethical hacking, as well as a PKI & Crypto teacher and a Checkpoint CCSI instructor.
In 1997, he patented the first generation of SSL Reverse Proxy (WAF) supporting Strong Perimeter Authentication (SecurID, PKI/OCSP): a product
named "Secure Gate" for the Swiss Banking market.
In 2001, Sylvain founded e-Xpert Solutions S.A. in Geneva. As its CTO, he led the company in new technology business developments (Strong
Authentication, Web Security, Web Application Firewall, Web SSO, PKI, Biometry and SOA Security).
In 2009, Sylvain founded a new consulting firm (MARET Consulting) with a sole aim: help companies deal with ICT security technology and human
processes to build a mitigation strategy.
Sylvain writes regularly for technical publications. He is a lecturer at Geneva University and a leading Security expert for the University of
Applied Sciences of Yverdon.
He now is a Technology Evangelist for OpenID and Strong Authentication and the Co-Founder Geneva AppSec Forum.
